Each year, the NYPD
Pulaski Association awards High School and College
scholarships to children of members.
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, the student
must be a son or daughter of a paid-up member and
graduating from the 8th grade or planning to take the
Police Reserve Association College Scholarship Exam.
Awards are based on the child's performance in a
competitive examination regardless if they attend a
private, parochial or public school.
Along with the Pulaski Scholarship, There is also the
Police Reserve Association City of New York Annual
Scholarship*.
The examination is open to sons and daughters of active
or retired members of the NYPD who are college bound
high school seniors who will be attending a two or four
year college and be matriculated the September following
the test for at least one full school year (Sept -
August). The exam is not open to civilian members
of the department.
Winners will be notified in May and awards
presentation will take place in June 2011. Winners must
be present at the Scholarship Night Presentation to
claim their award. Unclaimed awards will be
forfeited.
